Sectoral Development Strategies

Projects included sector-specific analyses, identification of growth opportunities, and the creation of tailored development plans supported by strategic roadmap and key actions of the sub-strategies. Strategies emphasized public-private sector coordination, supply chain optimization, workforce skill enhancement, technological investments, and infrastructure development, driving sectoral competitiveness and contributing to broader economic growth.



Policy Formulation





Led the development and implementation of policies to promote economic development across multiple countries based in Africa and Asia. This included conducting in-depth research, data collection, and stakeholder consultations to craft targeted policies addressing specific economic challenges and opportunities. The focus was on improving regulatory frameworks, enhancing the business environment, and supporting key sectors like leather, textile, and apparel manufacturing. These policies were designed to foster innovation, boost productivity, and attract investment.



Feasibility and Capacity Studies





Conducted multiple studies aimed at scaling up production opportunities and addressing industry-specific challenges in the apparel sector. These projects involved comprehensive market and opportunity analysis, including research on international and regional trends, as well as mapping the needs and capacities of the current sector to capture new opportunities. Some studies focused on labor market integration, particularly facilitating the inclusion of women in the workforce by designing customized training curricula tailored to industry requirements. Most of these projects were based in South Asia, addressing the region’s unique needs and potential.



Diagnosis of Educational Systems





Carried out detailed evaluations of university and vocational training programs, particularly in engineering and production management, across South Asia and North Africa. These studies analyzed educational systems in comparison to the evolving needs of the manufacturing sector, especially in the apparel industry. The assessments provided actionable recommendations to align training programs with labor market demands. Additionally, the projects included raining of key educational personnel, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to update curricula and methodologies to meet the requirements of modern manufacturing industries.



Needs Assessments for Sustainability Hubs





Conducted comprehensive needs assessments for the development of national sustainability hubs. The projects encompassed CSR activities, including ethical business practices, health and safety compliance, environmental standards, gender equality, and human rights due diligence. Also, it included ESG assessment and target initiatives, and their data driven KPIs measures.



Trade and Export Development Projects





Designed and implemented strategies to enhance export capabilities and international trade. Projects involved market analysis, trade agreement negotiations, exporter capacity-building, and trade infrastructure development. The goal was to create opportunities for manufacturing exporters to expand into new markets in EU and the USA, driving economic growth.



Study Tour Leadership





Organized and led international study tour for exporters delegates and from trade and business associations in the leather, footwear and apparel sectors, along with government representatives. The tour aimed to assess current best practices and explore potential business cooperation opportunities.



Investment Plan for Sectoral Institute





Designed an investment plan for a research, design, and training institute for the leather sector in Bangladesh. The plan included actionable recommendations and options for partnering with leading leather academic and certifications bodies, skills development aligned with international best practices.



Infrastructure Development Projects





Designed strategies to enhance critical infrastructure, including transportation, energy, water supply, and communication systems, to support economic activities and attract FDI. Recommendations included constructing roads, ports, power plants, and digital networks while incorporating smart technologies to optimize resource use and improve efficiency.



MSMEs Development Projects





Supported the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as key drivers of job creation and economic diversification. Activities included providing access to finance, clustering, technical training, and backward/forward linkages. Projects emphasized ethical and sustainable practices to strengthen MSMEs for local and international competitiveness.



Skills and Workforce Development Projects





Developed workforce skills aligned with industry demands and economic growth goals. This included vocational training programs, curriculum alignment with labor market needs, and capacity-building initiatives to ensure a skilled workforce that contributes to productivity and national development.



Investment Climate Improvement Projects





Improved investment climates to attract foreign direct investment (FDI). This included policy reforms, regulatory enhancements, and investor-friendly incentives. Projects also focused on streamlining bureaucratic processes, improving transparency, and building investor confidence in local economies.
