Diagnosis of capacity-building needs in three engineering universities. Aimed to develop courses and tools to meet current industry needs in order to improve engineering programs and sustain that improvement. Formulated an action plan with recommendations for closing the skills gap.
Upgrading industrial engineering courses at universities by equipping teaching staff with the necessary Lean techniques and tools most commonly used in the apparel industry. Capacity-building is comprised of three components two are included in the textiles and industrial engineering bachelor’s degree courses and one in the master’s degree program.
